"In July 2007 the violinist Rudens Turku asked me to write a piece for solo violin. At that time, sketches were produced that were particularly influenced by two impressions: first of all from the previous analysis of the "St. Matthew Passion" and secondly from impressions of a stipend to the Bach Week in Ansbach. Thus a one-movement, expressive solo piece was written that is, on the one hand, reminiscent of the baroque musical language of Bach and also, on the other hand, exploits the sonic possibilities of the E-string of the violin."
